The Shipowners’ Club has announced a series of leadership appointments in its Singapore Branch, with Jon Holmes set to become CEO in August 2026, Jeremy Slater named as Underwriting Director, and Steve Randall preparing to retire after nearly five decades of service.

Holmes, who joined the Singapore Branch in April 2023, will take on the role of Commercial Director in the interim, ahead of assuming the CEO position upon Randall’s retirement. Holmes brings over 12 years of insurance experience, most of it spent in Singapore, working for companies like AXA XL and XL Catlin.

Slater, who has over four decades of industry experience, has been appointed Underwriting Director for the Singapore Branch. He first joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2003 and most recently held the position of Head of Underwriting, Singapore. Before joining the Club, Slater worked at the Britannia P&I Club as an underwriter for more than 21 years.

Steve Randall, the outgoing CEO, will retire on 10 August 2026, 48 years after joining the Club. He began his career in the post room and went on to hold several senior roles, including Commercial Director and CEO of the Singapore Branch, which he helped establish in 2009. Post-retirement, Randall will remain involved in an ambassadorial capacity, continuing to support the Club’s activities in the Asia-Pacific market.

Simon Peacock, CEO of the Shipowners’ Club, said Holmes would be a “very worthy successor” and praised Randall’s contribution to the Club’s expansion and stability in the region. “This growth and success would not have been achieved without Steve’s enviable energy and expertise,” Peacock said.
