Global (re)insurer MS Amlin has named Christiern Dart as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
He will succeed Andrew Carrier, who is stepping down after three years as CEO but will remain with the Mitsui Sumitomo group as an Executive Officer, staying on until year-end to support a smooth transition.
Dart joins the Lloyd’s player from Brit, where he spent 17 years, most recently as Group Chief Underwriting Officer. Equipped with over 30 years of industry experience, he has also gained expertise from holding senior underwriting roles in firms such as CNA Re and Liberty Syndicates.
Shinichiro Funabiki, President and CEO of Mitsui Sumitomo, welcomed Dart to the team. “His leadership and strategic approach at Brit clearly demonstrate his talent, and I speak for the Board and the broader executive team in MSI, when I say how excited I am for him to start his new role with us and take the company to the next stage of its development. “
Funabiki also took the opportunity to thank the outgoing CEO, saying that Carrier had “brought a renewed underwriting discipline to the business that has left such a positive mark on our company consciousness that his presence will be felt long after he moves into his new role as Executive Officer for MS.”
