Frontier Global Underwriting and Travelers Syndicate 5000 at Lloyd’s have renewed their partnership for three years, extending a relationship that began in 2019, aiming to provide certainty amid a volatile market where capacity can shift quickly.
The term is notable in the Lloyd’s market, where agreements typically run for 12 months. The deal gives brokers and clients continued access to Travelers’ capacity through Frontier’s managing general agent (MGA) platform, which underwrites complex financial lines including directors and officers, professional indemnity, cyber, and kidnap and ransom.
“This renewal agreement underscores our stability, resilience and shared commitment to brokers and clients who depend on consistency,” says Joel Pridmore, co-managing director and co-founder of Frontier.
In a press release emailed to (Re)in Asia before the official announcement, the two firms say the agreement offers “reliable, world-class capacity” at a time when the market faces geopolitical tensions, inflation, and shifting claims trends—pressures they say are particularly acute for clients in Asia-Pacific, which accounts for half of Frontier’s business.
Pridmore also noted that Frontier’s approach centres on understanding clients before a policy is written. “By investing time upfront to fully understand each client, we ensure that when a policy is written, all parties are on the same page,” he said.
Andre Rodrigues, underwriting officer at Travelers Europe, pointed to the firm’s long-term focus. “We insured the first automobile policy in 1897, the Apollo moon mission in 1969, and have insured many innovations since,” he said. “We are invested in our clients’ long-term success—and are committed to working with partners who can identify the strongest risks.”
Frontier is headquartered in London and operates in the UK and Australia. Travelers, which has been in business for 160 years, provides 100% of Frontier’s capacity.
