Insurance Australia Group (IAG) has announced that its New Zealand Chief Executive, Amanda Whiting, will return to Australia after leading the business for several years.
The company said a recruitment process is now underway to appoint her successor, with Whiting to remain in her role until a new chief executive is named to ensure a smooth transition for employees, customers, and partners.
IAG confirmed that there is no immediate change to Whiting’s responsibilities, and further updates will be provided as the appointment process progresses.
This announcement comes as IAG NZ continues to navigate regulatory scrutiny. Last month, the company was given a NZ$19.5m (US$11.1m) High Court penalty for breaches of the Financial Markets Conduct Act. The Court cited widespread systems failures that led to customer overcharges, though IAG has since remediated affected policyholders and cooperated with the regulator.
