The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) announced on Thursday (May 14) the appointment of Scott Leney as President of the Board and Brendan Dunne as Deputy President.
Leney, Everest Insurance’s Head of Asia Pacific, takes over the role from Ben Bessell, who served as Board President for the past two years. Based in Sydney, Leney previously served as Deputy President of ANZIIF’s Board. He has also previously held senior roles at Marsh & McLennan, including Head of Risk Management for Asia-Pacific.
Brendan Dunne currently serves as the Chief Customer and Operations Officer at Allianz Australia, where he has held multiple finance roles over the past two decades.
As Board President and Deputy President, Leney and Dunne will work closely with the Board, ANZIIF CEO Katrina Shanks, and the executive leadership team to deliver on the organisation’s strategic priorities.
Commenting on his appointment, Leney said: “I am honoured to serve as President of ANZIIF, an organisation I have been proudly associated with since the early days of my career—beginning with my Fellowship studies and continuing through to my recent tenure on the Board of Directors.”
Meanwhile, Dunne stated that he is “excited to work alongside the Board, ANZIIF CEO, and the executive team to uphold and enhance the professionalism of the industry as we navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
