Aon has announced a series of senior appointments in Asia, naming Richard Tan as Chief Commercial Officer for Singapore, Jennifer Chan as Executive Director for Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, and Mike Ang as Head of the Financial Services and Professions Group for Singapore and Indonesia.

Richard Tan, who has been with the firm for over six years, most recently as Head of Growth and DAU in Singapore, has been promoted to Chief Commercial Officer for Singapore. He’s equipped with over 24 years of experience in the finance and insurance industries, having worked for companies such as Tan Insurance Brokers, HSBC, and OCBC Bank, among others.

Speaking on the appointment on LinkedIn, Andrew Minnitt, Aon’s Head of Singapore, Indonesia & Malaysia, said: “Richard will spearhead growth across Commercial Risk, Health, and Talent Solutions, while continuing to elevate our client experience with consistency and impact.”

Jennifer Chan assumes the expanded role of Executive Director for Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. She first joined Aon Singapore in 2009 as a Senior Manager before leaving in 2011. She returned to the company in 2017 and most recently held the position of Executive Director & Head, Trade Credit, Political Risks & Surety.

Minnitt said, “Jennifer has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and deep expertise in trade credit, structured credit, and surety.” Apart from Aon, Chan gained extensive insurance expertise by working for companies such as Lockton Singapore, Howden Singapore, and HSBC, among others.

Meanwhile, Mike Ang is assuming an expanded role as Head of the Financial Services and Professions Group for both Singapore and Indonesia. He has been with Aon for over 15 years. He initially joined the Group’s Hong Kong SAR business as Associate Director before moving to Aon Singapore in 2014.

He brings a wealth of industry experience to his new role, having also worked for companies such as WTW and JLT group during his extensive career.

Minnitt highlighted Ang’s “outstanding leadership in advancing our FSPG capabilities” and said that the broader remit underscores Aon’s confidence in his ability to accelerate growth in the Indonesian market.

The three announcements follow several key leadership appointments at Aon Asia this month. In Thailand, the company welcomed five new hires across different business lines, including Jarut Sukkhawadee as Head of Commercial Risk. Meanwhile, Aon Reinsurance Solutions also announced three senior appointments in Asia, with Tom Greenaway being promoted to Asia Strategic Growth Leader, Reinsurance.
