Aon has announced that Jeff Plein has joined as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Asia-Pacific region, effective from September 11th, 2023.
Based in Singapore, Plein will report to Mindy Simon, Aon’s Global Chief Operating Officer, and be part of the Aon Asia-Pacific Executive Committee and the Aon Business Services Global Leadership Team. He will oversee the design and execution of all operations across the Asia-Pacific, including driving growth and an enhanced client experience in the region.
Anne Corona, the Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific, expressed her excitement about Plein’s appointmentment, commenting, “Jeff is an outstanding leader, and his extensive experience in driving operational excellence will help further develop the world-class operations and technological capabilities that Aon delivers to our clients in the Asia-Pacific region.”
Plein brings with him valuable experience in business operations and strategic insights from previous roles in the financial services sector. Before joining Aon, Plein was the Managing Director and Asia Pacific Head of Securities Services Operations at Citibank since 2018. He has also held senior positions at Fullerton Fund Management, BlackRock and Pacific Investment Management Company.
Simon, praised Plein’s experience within the investment management, banking and broader financial services sector, stating, “Jeff will bring strong insights that will help our firm continue to deliver innovative solutions, helping our clients to be better informed and better advised.”
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Plein himself said, “The Asia-Pacific region presents significant opportunities for growth and innovation. I am looking forward to building on the firm’s vision to help clients make better decisions as they face today’s rapidly changing, increasingly complex and interconnected challenges.”
Plein takes over from Bill Hooper, who is transitioning to the role of Global COO of Commercial Risk Solutions and is set to relocate to the UK later this year.
