Kris Boundy has been appointed as general manager, reinsurance business, at Hannover Life Re of Australasia, the company announced on LinkedIn on Thursday.

In her new role, Boundy will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s reinsurance business, including client relationships, product and pricing across group, retail, longevity and structured solutions.

Boundy has been with HLR Aus for five years and was most recently head of group pricing, where she was responsible for the overall pricing strategy, execution, and key client relationships. She has nearly two decades of actuarial, pricing, and client‑focused reinsurance experience across Australia and Canada with prior stints at Munich Re and Manulife Financial. She is also a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Boundy’s move follows Hannover Re’s appointments of Prateek Maheshwari as chief financial officer of India, Kun Huang as CEO of China, and John Walters as managing director for its Australasia life business at the start of the year. In April 2025, HLR Aus agreed to acquire the Australian direct life insurance portfolio of Swiss Re Life & Health Australia Limited, which operates under the iptiQ brand.
