1. About these terms

(Re)in Asia is operated and published by Playfair Media Limited (“Playfair Media”, “we”, and “us”). These Terms of Use govern your access to reinasia.com and the digital products and services we make available through it.

By using our services, you agree to these terms. If you purchase a subscription, register for an event, or use another product with additional terms shown at the point of purchase or registration, those additional terms also apply. If they conflict with these terms, the product-specific terms take priority for that product.

2. Accounts and access

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login details secure. An account is personal to the registered user unless a business or team plan expressly allows multiple users. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and should tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, investigate misuse, comply with law, or enforce these terms. We will act proportionately and, where practical, explain the reason.

3. Subscriptions, trials, and payment

The price, billing period, access included, trial conditions, and any renewal terms are displayed before you complete a purchase. Taxes may apply depending on your location. By submitting payment details, you authorise the stated charge and any recurring charges clearly disclosed at checkout.

You can manage or cancel a subscription through your account or by contacting our subscriptions team. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal and does not retrospectively refund the current paid period unless the purchase terms or applicable law say otherwise.

We may change subscription prices or features. We will give reasonable notice before a change affects a recurring paid subscription and explain any cancellation option.

4. Ownership of content

Unless stated otherwise, the text, design, graphics, photographs, data compilations, newsletters, and other content in our services are owned by or licensed to Playfair Media Limited and are protected by intellectual property laws.

Trade marks, company names, and third-party material remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

5. What you may do

You may access our content for your own personal or internal professional use, share links, and quote limited excerpts with clear attribution and a link to the original article. You may use browser printing or other features we expressly provide for that purpose.

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

• Republish, reproduce, distribute, or sell a substantial part of our content.
• Share subscription credentials or systematically distribute paid content outside the licensed users.
• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated means to extract content or data except as permitted by our robots instructions or a written licence.
• Use our content to train, fine-tune, ground, or evaluate an artificial intelligence system or to create a competing database or product.
• Remove attribution, copyright notices, paywalls, or technical protections.
• Use the service in a way that is unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or disruptive.

6. Material you submit

You retain ownership of material you send to us, but you give us permission to use it to respond to your enquiry and, where you submit it for possible publication, to review, edit, publish, and promote it in connection with our services. We will agree material commercial uses separately where appropriate.

You must have the right to submit the material and must not knowingly send content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, malicious, or misleading. Sending a story idea does not guarantee publication. Confidential news tips should be clearly marked and sent to the editorial contact on our Contact page.

7. Links and third-party services

Our services may link to websites, payment providers, social platforms, and other services we do not control. A link is not an endorsement. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices, and you should review them before use.

8. Information, availability, and liability

Our journalism and market information are provided for general information and are not personalised financial, investment, legal, tax, insurance, or other professional advice. You should obtain appropriate advice before acting on information that is important to your circumstances.

We work to provide accurate, timely services, but information and availability may change and errors or interruptions may occur. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not give implied warranties that the services will always be uninterrupted, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, Playfair Media Limited is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the services. Any other liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Changes to the service or these terms

We may update the services and these terms. The latest version will appear here with a revised date. If a change materially affects a paid subscription, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use after a change takes effect means the updated terms apply.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction, meaning that mandatory consumer rights in your home jurisdiction may still apply.
