Subscription terms and conditions.

1. Subscription

a. The Service is a paid subscription offering regular content focused on insights and analysis of current insurance and reinsurance events and trends in Asia Pacific.

b. Your subscription to the Service commences upon successful registration and payment and is valid for the period specified at the time of purchase (the “Subscription Term”).

2. License

a. Upon subscription, Playfair Media grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service for your own use and for the internal professional purposes of the organisation that holds the subscription.

b. A subscription is licensed to named individual users. Where a team, group or enterprise plan is purchased, the licence extends only to the number of named authorised users specified at the point of purchase.

c. This licence does not permit you to distribute, republish or otherwise make the Content available to any person who is not a named authorised user.

3. Restrictions

a. You must not share, distribute, transfer or assign your login credentials, or your rights to use the Service, to any person who is not a named authorised user.

b. You must not forward, post, upload or circulate subscriber-only Content outside your organisation’s named authorised users, including by email distribution list, intranet, shared drive, client newsletter or messaging channel.

c. You must not republish, resell, syndicate or systematically reproduce the Content, or make it available as part of any product or service offered to third parties.

d. Unauthorised use or sharing of the Service constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your subscription without refund.

4. Prohibited Use of Content

a. As a Subscriber, you acknowledge that all materials provided in the Service, including but not limited to written content, photographs, graphics, audio, video, logos, icons, images, data compilations, and software, as well as the compilation thereof (the “Content”), are the property of Playfair Media Limited or its content suppliers and are protected by intellectual property laws.

b. Except as permitted under sections 2 and 3, you agree not to reproduce, duplicate, sell, resell, syndicate, license or otherwise commercially exploit the Service or any portion of the Content, or make it available to any third party, without express written consent from Playfair Media.

c. Except as permitted under sections 2 and 3, the licence granted to you does not allow reproduction or distribution of the Content, including printing, copying, scanning or any other form of duplication, for any purpose beyond the internal professional use of the named authorised users under your subscription.

d. Any unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution of the Service or Content could subject you to civil and criminal penalties under applicable laws.

e. Requests for written permission to reproduce or distribute materials found on the Service should be directed to Playfair Media customer service or the designated contact point. Written approval from Playfair Media must be obtained before any such activity is permitted.

f. You must not use the Content, or permit it to be used, to train, fine-tune or develop an artificial intelligence or machine learning model.

g. You must not systematically ingest, index, copy or store the Content, whether manually or by automated means, in a way that creates a substitute for a subscription, a searchable archive, or a competing database or product. This includes connecting the Service or its archive to an internal or third-party AI assistant, retrieval system or knowledge base.

h. Nothing in this section prevents an individual authorised user from using a tool of their own choosing to summarise or translate an individual article they are entitled to access, for their own professional use, provided the Content is not retained, indexed, or made available to any person who is not a named authorised user.

5. Account and Security

a. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering for the Service and to keep that information up to date.

b. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer or device.

c. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.

d. Promptly notify Playfair Media of any breach of security or unauthorised use of your account.

6. Fees and Renewal

a. Subscription fees are due in advance and are non-refundable, except as explicitly stated in these Terms.

b. Fees are subject to change upon prior notice from Playfair Media.

7. Cancellation Policy

a. You may cancel your subscription at any time; however, no refunds will be made for any remaining portion of the Subscription Term.

b. To cancel your subscription, please follow the instructions within your account settings or contact Playfair Media customer service.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and all its content, including but not limited to articles, reports, data, graphics, interfaces, and design, are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws and are the property of Playfair Media or its licensors unless otherwise stated.

9. Limitation of Liability

Playfair Media will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

10. Amendments

Playfair Media reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
