Aviso Specialty has appointed former Marsh Pacific president Josh Roach as chief executive officer, with former Lockton Australia CEO Paul Marsden joining the board as executive director of broking, the broker announced in a media release late Thursday.
Roach joins from Marsh, where he spent more than 17 years and most recently served as president of the Pacific region. To his new role, he brings over two decades of insurance industry experience, having previously held senior leadership and M&A-related roles at Willis.
“Mr. Roach will continue executing and build on the strategic vision established by Travis Kemp, who has transitioned from CEO to Executive Chairman,” Aviso said in a media release.
Marsden is Aviso’s latest hire from Lockton, where he worked for over 14 years, most recently as CEO of Lockton Australia before moving into a consulting role in March 2025. He has about 25 years of insurance industry experience and has also held senior leadership roles at Australian Reliance Group and Aon Risk Services.
Kemp said attracting leaders of Roach and Marsden’s calibre reflects the confidence that experienced executives have in the business’s direction and potential. “We see significant opportunity to elevate specialist broking through a model that stands apart from the more prevalent standardised approaches seen across the broader industry,” he added.
Those appointments follow a recent hiring push by Aviso that added 21 new roles, with the bulk of talent poached from rival broker Lockton.
