Everest Group Ltd. on Friday announced two senior leadership appointments within its global wholesale and specialty insurance division, effective immediately: Paul Trueman as head of international for GWS and Mark Shaw as global head of commercial for GWS.

Trueman will oversee Everest’s underwriting, distribution, and portfolio strategy across international markets and will lead the region’s key businesses, including across global markets, accident and health, and facultative.

Since joining Everest in 2022, Trueman has played a key role in expanding the company’s specialty and aviation capabilities and broker partnerships across major global hubs, the insurer said. He previously worked for Global Aerospace, Asian Capital Re, AIG, and Catlin Singapore Pte Ltd.

Meanwhile, Shaw will lead the firm’s global commercial insurance strategy, broker engagement, and client development.

He also joined Everest in 2022 and has held senior roles, most recently as global account lead/chief commercial officer for international insurance. He has had stints at Arch Insurance (UK) Limited, Hiscox, and AXA.

“Paul and Mark are proven leaders with a strong track record of success at Everest, exemplifying the experience, and executional strength that define Everest,” Jason Keen, global head of wholesale and specialty, said. “Their appointments support our strategy to build a unified, performance-driven wholesale and specialty platform with world-class underwriting, disciplined portfolio management, and strong broker alignment across all markets.”
