Gallagher Re on Thursday announced the appointments of Roshan Perera as its new managing director and head of APAC, and Richard Jones as Chairman for the region.
They succeed Mark O’Brien, former Head of APAC, who will leave Gallagher Re to pursue new opportunities outside the broking industry and Mark Morley, the former chairman of APAC and deputy chairman of international, who is retiring.
Perera joined the reinsurance broker in 2022 and has been serving as its head of APAC strategic solutions. He has more than 25 years of experience, including actuarial and consulting roles, with the last 20 years in various positions across Asia Pacific.
Jones joined Gallagher Re in August 2025 and has been serving as chairman for South East Asia, Taiwan, and Korea. He has almost 40 years of reinsurance broking experience and has held regional CEO and chair positions in previous roles.
“Roshan’s strategic vision and commitment to collaborative leadership coupled with Richard’s deep industry experience and insight make them an excellent fit for these roles,” said Dirk Spenner, International CEO of Gallagher Re.
Speaking on the outgoing Morley and O’Brien, Spenner said both had been “instrumental in cultivating a culture of collaboration and shared purpose, driving the region’s success and enhancing our capabilities”.
“They have established a clear, client-centric strategy and fostered a robust sales culture, creating a solid foundation for future growth,” Spenner added. “We thank them for all of their hard work, and wish them the best for their future endeavours.”
