Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has strengthened its capabilities in Asia with the official confirmation of the strategic hires of Danny La, as Head of Strategic Initiatives & Business Transformation, and Matthew Day, as Head of Risk Engineering & Loss Prevention.
La (pictured left) joins Generali from Swiss Re where he was Vice President of P&C Solutions. Prior to his time at Swiss Re, he worked for QBE for eight years in a variety of roles across Australia, the UK and Hong Kong.
Commenting on his new role, La said, “I am excited to join Generali Global Corporate & Commercial and look forward to working with the team on strategic initiatives that will enhance our product offerings, grow our market presence, and create long-term value for our clients in Asia.”
Day (pictured right) has joined from Zurich where he served as Head of Resilience Solutions, Asia and will report to Brendan McDonald, Head of Underwriting of GC&C in Asia, who said, “Matthew’s appointment enables us to help our clients better understand, manage, and improve their risks. In his new role”. Day holds a fire safety and risk management degree and is a Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFireE).

Both La and Day officially commenced their new roles in August 2023.
