Marsh McLennan has appointed Andrea Bono as CEO of its India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) business, effective January 2026, the company announced in a media release on 3 November.
Bono first joined Marsh in 2010 as Head of Marsh Italy’s Risk Management Practice. He most recently served as CEO of Marsh McLennan Italy from 2023. For his new role, he will be based in Dubai and will report to Flavio Piccolomini, CEO, Marsh McLennan, International.
Bono brings more than 30 years’ industry experience. He began his career in London at Willis.
In his new remit, Bono will lead the strategic development and execution of the group’s commercial strategy across IMEA, focusing on delivery across risk, reinsurance and capital, people and investments, and management consulting, while strengthening and expanding client relationships.
Announcing the appointment, Piccolomini said the IMEA region “represents an area of significant growth for Marsh McLennan,” and that Bono’s leadership experience and focus on client solutions make him well suited to guide the company’s operations in the region.
Bono, reflecting on the challenges facing the market, noted that clients across IMEA are dealing with “complex – and often interlinked – regional and global risks,” and said Marsh McLennan will leverage its collective strength “enabled by cutting-edge AI and analytics” to support them.
The announcement comes as Marsh McLennan prepares for a global rebrand in 2026, under which it will operate solely as Marsh. The rebrand will coincide with the launch of a new technology and data unit, while its reinsurance arm Guy Carpenter will transition to the Marsh Re name.
