Miller has appointed Midori Katayama as Head of Japan Desk, Singapore, according to a LinkedIn announcement by the (re)insurance broker on 2 October.

Katayama joins from Mitsui & Co Risk Solutions, where she has worked for over a year, most recently as Deputy General Manager, specialising in insurance risk management and reinsurance solutions.

Based in Singapore, Katayama will lead client management and production for Japanese interests abroad in Southeast Asia as Miller continues to build its regional presence.

To her new role, she brings over 14 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, equipped with expertise in treaty and facultative reinsurance in the APAC region. Katayama’s earlier career included working in broking and client management roles for firms such as Gallagher Re, Guy Carpenter, and AIG in Tokyo.

The announcement follows other key appointments made by the (re)insurer in the past three months, including Paul Cumberland taking on the newly created global role of Chief Broking Officer, KS Shim being appointed as Head of Specialty at Miller Korea, and Tam Hui Von being appointed as Reinsurance Broker in Singapore.
