QBE has announced the appointment of Serene Davis as their Global Head of Cyber – a newly created position. Davis joins from Beazley where she worked for over 16 years, most recently as Regional Manager for US Cyber & Tech. She will begin her new role at QBE on May 15.

QBE is emphasising its commitment to cyber insurance through the creation of the new position. Davis will oversee the development of a unified cyber strategy across QBE’s divisions for risk assessment, pricing, claims, products, services, and marketing. She will be based in Southern California and accountable for the overall performance of the company’s cyber business.

QBE Group CEO Andrew Horton expressed his delight in having Davis join the company saying “Cyber risk is a critical component of risk management for our brokers and customers, and we want to meet this need through a globally consistent cyber insurance strategy and become a market-leading cyber insurer. We’re delighted Serene will lead this important work for QBE.”

Davis has over two decades of experience within insurance. At Beazley she was part of the group’s Cyber Risks Global Strategy Group and prior to working there, she held positions at AIG and Federated Insurance.

Davis’s newly created position is an indication of the increasing demand for cyber insurance, and positions QBE to benefit from the growing market.
