Rodrigo Jimenez will become Allianz Trade’s Asia Pacific Regional CEO from 1 October 2025, the business announced on Tuesday. He will succeed Paul Flanagan, who is retiring after a 34-year career with the company.
Jimenez will begin a transition period on 1 July 2025 and will be based in Hong Kong, overseeing 12 markets from 1 October. His appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
He joined Allianz Trade in 2014 as CEO of its Brazilian operations, and since 2021 has been Regional Commercial Director for Northern Europe and a member of the Regional Management Team.
“It is an incredibly exciting time to be joining the Asia Pacific region. I am inspired by the growth Asia Pacific has already achieved and the transformative journey ahead, with plans to extend our presence to Vietnam, the thirteenth market in the region.” Jimenez said on his appointment.
Flanagan’s retirement marks the end of a long career at Allianz Trade, where he has played a significant role in the company’s development in the Asia Pacific region.
Acknowledging Flanagan’s contributions to the business, Jimenez added, “Paul has set the bar high, establishing a solid foundation for this expansion, based on an unwavering commitment to customer experience and operational excellence.”
The leadership change follows Wongi Kim’s appointment as Country Manager for South Korea in March.
