Sompo Insurance Singapore has appointed Francis Lim as financial lines lead in Singapore, according to a LinkedIn post on Tuesday by Emily Poh, senior vice president and head of financial lines insurance Asia Pacific.
Lim joins Sompo after nearly six years at Newline Asia Services, where he most recently served as senior financial lines underwriter. He has held leadership roles at ArgoGlobal Underwriting Asia-Pacific and Profin, and has also worked in underwriting at QBE Insurance International in his more than 24 years in the industry, specialising in financial lines underwriting.
In his new role, he will lead the growth of Sompo’s SME and mid-corporate financial lines portfolio in Singapore, covering directors’ and officers’ liability, professional indemnity, financial institutions, and cyber.
“Francis brings deep expertise and a strong track record in building sustainable and profitable portfolios. His leadership will further enhance our capabilities and support our growth ambition in Singapore,” Poh said in her announcement.
Lim’s move follows other appointments made by Sompo across its APAC operations this month, including See Ju Chua’s promotion to chief financial officer in Singapore and Alice Sun’s appointment as senior casualty underwriter in Hong Kong.
