Zurich Insurance has designated Melissa Starfield as head of strategic broker management for its Australia and New Zealand general insurance business, according to a LinkedIn announcement by Giles Crowley, chief distribution and deal management officer for general insurance, on Monday
Starfield has been with the company since 2024 and most recently served as head of AR. She has over 25 years industry experience, with prior stints at Insurance House, CGU Insurance, Wesfarmers Insurance, Cranston Australia (Steadfast Group), and IAG, according to her LinkedIn profile.
“Mel is renowned for building long-term, genuine partnerships which will help us continue to focus on collaboration, engagement, opportunity and strategic alignment with our strategic brokers across the market,” Crowley said of Starfield’s appointment. “Mel’s energy, clarity, and passion for partnership make her the right leader for this next chapter and I am confident and excited about the great things we will accomplish together.
