Allianz Commercial India has appointed Shweta Gadia as Head of Financial Lines & Cyber, effective 23 September 2024.
Gadia joins Allianz from HDFC ERGO General Insurance where she spent nearly a decade. Most recently, she served as Deputy Vice President and was responsible for the growth of the liability business in Western India. This included the placement of complex and large liability risks for Cyber, Venture Capital Asset Protection, Mutual Fund Asset Protection, and Directors & Officers insurance, Allianz said.
In her new role, Mumbai-based Gadia reports directly to CB Murali, CEO of Allianz Commercial India, with a matrix reporting line to Jenny Wilhelm, Regional Head of Financial Lines, Cyber, and Distribution for Allianz Commercial Asia.
She will be responsible for helping to develop and execute Allianz Commercial’s Financial Lines, Cyber, and Tech Professional Indemnity strategy in India, while also supporting the development of the global Line of Business (LoB) strategy and managing the local LoB portfolio and underwriting staff.
Gadia brings 14 years of experience in the insurance industry, covering specialty and casualty lines, as well as multiple functions, including underwriting, business development, direct placement with clients, treaty enhancements, and facultative placements.
Before her tenure at HDFC ERGO, she held various roles at Tata AIG General Insurance and Mahindra Insurance Brokers.
