Howden India has appointed Bhushan Raorane as executive vice president for property and risk management, the broker announced in a LinkedIn post.

Raorane joins Howden’s Mumbai team from Mahindra Insurance Brokers, where he has worked since 2022, most recently as deputy general manager.

He brings over 21 years of insurance broking experience. Previously, he served as vice president at Gallagher and spent more than 13 years at Edelweiss Insurance Brokers in claims leadership roles.

“Throughout his career, he has successfully led the resolution of large and complex claims, built high-performing teams, and driven transformation initiatives focused on governance, operational efficiency, and digital enablement,” Howden said in its announcement.

His appointment follows a series of recent hires by Howden aimed at expanding its specialist capabilities across Asia, including Kyle Chan as senior director, M&A Asia, and Cindy Yeo as director, M&A Asia, and Zhong Xian Lam as senior associate in its Advisory & Portfolio Solutions team. Howden also had an earlier expansion of its M&A insurance team in the region, making 12 hires across Singapore, Greater China and Japan.
