Canopius Group has appointed Louise Wai as head of property D&F, APAC, Jack Hullah as head of credit and political risk, APAC, and Richard Adamczyk as senior claims manager, ANZ, the specialty (re)insurer announced on 21 September.
Wai will join Canopius on 1 November and will be based in Singapore. She joins from Helvetia Swiss Insurance Company Ltd’s Singapore branch, where she most recently served as underwriting manager, engineering and property solutions, Asia.
She brings more than 25 years of experience working for firms across the region, with expertise in property and engineering underwriting.
Also based in Singapore, Hullah will take up his new role on 10 November. He moves to Canopius after over 2 years at AXA XL, most recently serving as regional product lead for Asia credit & political risk.
He has more than 15 years of experience spanning political risk and credit insurance, credit strategy and trading, structured finance and regional business development.
Adamczyk will join Canopius on 28 September and will be based in Melbourne. He moves from the Legal Practitioners’ Liability Committee, where he served as head of claims.
He previously spent more than 15 years with AIG Australia, most recently as head of financial lines claims, Australasia. His earlier career also included insurance and legal roles.
According to the firm, the three appointees will help deepen broker and client relationships, support profitable growth, and strengthen its technical, service and claims capabilities across the region.

The hires follow other appointments in Australia earlier this year, including Namrata Soni as an energy and construction underwriter and Tesh Patel as head of distribution for Australia and New Zealand.
The appointments come against a backdrop of growth in Canopius’ APAC business, which recorded a 22% rise in premium to US$460.7m in 2025, while its undiscounted combined ratio improved to 86.1% from 92.1%.
