Howden has appointed Kyle Chan as senior director for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) Asia, the company announced in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday.
A lawyer by profession, Chan brings nearly two decades of legal experience advising on complex, cross-border M&A transactions, with deep expertise across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. He most recently served as consultant lawyer for transactions at Linklaters and has also held senior roles at NEOM, Hill Dickinson LLP, Paul Hastings, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and Chiu & Partners.
“His perspective as a seasoned legal practitioner adds real depth to how we support clients navigating increasingly dynamic and nuanced deal environments,” Howden commented on his appointment. “We are excited for what’s ahead as he works closely with our teams and clients across the region.”
Chan’s move follows several other leadership appointments by the broker across APAC within this month: Mark Stankovich as a partner in Howden New Zealand’s Auckland commercial and affinity team, Mani Tsang as head of claims for Hong Kong, Andy Buddell as Asia chief operating officer, and Henry To as chairman for Howden Re. It also comes after Howden’s expansion of its M&A insurance team in Asia, with hires mostly coming from Aon.
