Generali Life Assurance (Thailand) has appointed Grace Allison Toh as chief agency officer, effective 17 August, the insurer said on Monday.
She joins from FWD Insurance in Malaysia, where she spent three years as chief agency officer for takaful and insurance. She held the same title at AmMetLife for a year to August 2023, and before that spent five and a half years at Principal Asset Management in Kuala Lumpur where she was head of agency and business development.
At Generali, Toh will lead the agency channel in Thailand, with responsibility for expanding the agency network, developing future leaders and improving agent capability and customer service.
Arsh Kaumi, country manager and chief executive of Generali Thailand, said the agency channel “remains critical to our business” and that the company was committed to equipping agents with the skills, tools and digital capabilities to deliver personalised advice.
“Beyond her impressive track record, Grace is a leader who understands the importance of empowering agents to succeed,” Kaumi said. “I am confident that she will play a pivotal role in accelerating our agency transformation, strengthening our customer-centric approach, and driving sustainable growth for years to come.”
Toh will also focus on developing the next generation of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) qualifiers and agency leaders.
Last year, Generali launched an Agency Builder Club across Asia specifically to recognise managers who recruit and activate new agents, as part of a wider push on MDRT qualification.
