Sun Life Vietnam has appointed Pham Ngoc Duy as deputy chief agency officer, the insurer announced on LinkedIn on Wednesday.

Duy joins Sun Life after almost eight years at Manulife Vietnam. Earlier in his career, he also worked at BIDV MetLife Life Insurance and Korea Life Insurance.

He brings over 14 years of experience spanning agency strategy, business management, sales leadership, distribution growth, and nationwide agency execution.

“In his new role, Duy will provide end-to-end leadership across agency sales execution, recruitment, activation, and leadership development,” Sun Life said, adding he will help support long-term growth by strengthening agency capabilities across Vietnam.

Duy’s appointment comes as the insurer strengthens its leadership in the country. Earlier this year, Sun Life Vietnam appointed Julian Yu as chief actuary and Budi Darmawan as chief agency officer. The insurer also named Frankie Leung as chief agency officer for Asia in January.
