Prudential Hong Kong has appointed Nathan Chuang as deputy chief executive officer (CEO), effective 4 January 2027, subject to regulatory approval, the company announced on Thursday.
Chuang will join Prudential after more than four years at AIA Korea, where he currently serves as CEO and president. He also worked at Citi earlier in his career.
He brings experience in insurance and financial services across Asia. He has held senior leadership roles at both group headquarters and local country insurance operations, with responsibilities spanning strategy, finance, distribution, product development and business transformation.
In this role, Chuang will support CEO Lawrence Lam and oversee agency, partnership distribution, and product functions.
“His broad commercial, strategic and operational expertise will help us accelerate execution, unlock new growth opportunities and deliver greater value to our customers and stakeholders”, Prudential said in the LinkedIn announcement.
Earlier this year, the insurer named industry veteran Alex Wong as its new chief information technology officer (CITO) for Hong Kong and Macau, while also appointing him regional CITO for Greater China.
Separately, Prudential Hong Kong launched an artificial intelligence-powered underwriting tool developed with Alibaba Cloud, expected to cut preliminary underwriting guidance for financial consultants from days to minutes.
