• Wong brings over 30 years of regional leadership experience spanning AI governance, enterprise architecture, and large‑scale modernisation across multiple Asian markets.
• His remit includes building scalable digital platforms and strengthening Prudential’s technology resilience to support growth across customer, employee and distributor channels.
• The appointment reinforces Prudential’s continued investment in data‑driven innovation.

Prudential has named industry veteran Alex Wong as its new Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) for Hong Kong and Macau, while also appointing him Regional CITO for Greater China. The dual role takes effect immediately.

Wong will report to Lawrence Lam, CEO of Prudential Hong Kong, and Anette Bronder, Group Chief Technology and Operations Officer at Prudential plc.

Under the expanded remit, Wong will lead Prudential’s end‑to‑end technology strategy, anchoring the insurer’s push to accelerate digital transformation across Hong Kong and the wider Greater China region. His mandate includes uplifting customer, employee, and distributor experiences, while advancing architectural alignment, scalability, and operational resilience.

Wong brings more than three decades of regional technology leadership experience, having held senior roles at Chubb Life, Sun Life, and AXA. His background spans AI and cyber governance, enterprise modernisation, distribution platforms, and core systems architecture, with a track record of strengthening technology infrastructure to support business growth.

Lam described Wong as “a seasoned leader with a proven ability to drive digital transformation and platform modernisation”, noting that his arrival comes as Prudential sharpens its focus on delivering “simpler, faster and more personalised experiences” across its Hong Kong franchise.

Wong said, “Our focus will be on leveraging innovation to create exceptional experiences for all our stakeholders. This will be fundamental to driving continued excellence and future growth.”

In December last year, Prudential Hong Kong signed a memorandum of understanding with Hong Kong’s Cyberport to accelerate the development of its AI Centre of Excellence.
