Lockton has appointed Alex Bursak as regional director, credit, Asia, the broker announced in a press release on Tuesday.
Based in Singapore, Bursak joins the business after a three-year stint with WTW, where he most recently worked as senior director and multinational trade credit leader for Asia Pacific. Before joining WTW, he held senior roles at Allianz Trade and LiquidX. He also worked at NORD/LB earlier in his career.
He brings nearly two decades of experience across trade credit insurance, corporate banking and structured finance, including 16 years in Asia.
In his new role, Bursak will work with Lockton’s regional and global teams to further develop the firm’s credit capabilities across Asia, strengthen relationships with insurers and lenders, and help clients address evolving trade and credit risks.
“As businesses face increasing economic uncertainty and supply chain complexity, Alex’s experience will further enhance our ability to support clients with market-leading credit and political risk solutions,” said Frederic Boles, head of professional & executive risk and credit, Asia.
The announcement follows other recent appointments by the broker in the APAC region, including David Lynch as chief client officer for New Zealand, and Victoria Yow as head of people solutions in Hong Kong. The company also tapped Nitin Verma to lead its professional and executive risk practice in India.
