Lockton has appointed David Lynch as chief client officer in New Zealand, as the broker continues to expand its presence in the country.

Based in Auckland, Lynch has nearly 30 years of insurance broking experience, including managing large property and liability programmes.

He joins Lockton from Marsh, where he served as chief client officer for the broker’s specialties division. Previously, he held managerial roles at JLT Group.

“David joins us at an exciting time for our business, as we continue to invest in our people, specialist capabilities and presence across New Zealand,” the broker said in a LinkedIn post.

Lockton began operating in New Zealand in 2021 as part of its expansion from Australia and to serve clients across the Pacific region.

The broker expanded its footprint in June this year with the opening of an office in Queenstown, in addition to its existing locations in Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch.

In July, the broker appointed Jeremie Deschamps as Asia head of cyber advisory, Mike Griffiths as regional director for healthcare in Asia, Martin Allain as head of the Asia wholesale placement team, and Alberto Ferriolo as Asia marine and transportation growth leader.
