Sompo Asia Pacific has appointed Cedric Wong as senior underwriter, financial lines, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the insurer announced on Monday.
Wong brings deep underwriting experience across financial institutions and commercial D&O, having handled a broad range of complex, multinational risks throughout his career.
Most recently, he was senior underwriter, financial lines at QBE Asia. Before that, he held similar positions at Zurich Insurance and Aon.
“He has a strong track record of driving portfolio growth and building lasting broker and client relationships and structuring bespoke solutions for complex risks,” Sompo said in a LinkedIn post.
Wong is Sompo’s sixth hire for its Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan underwriting team in recent months.
In July, Canon Liu joined to lead financial lines for the three markets. Last month, the business hired Winnie Chau, also as senior underwriter, financial lines.
Other recent hires in the region include Dave Wong as property underwriter, Megan Yeung as senior casualty underwriter, and Gally Wong as senior construction underwriter.
