Sompo has appointed Megan Yeung as senior casualty underwriter for Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, effective 18 May 2026, the firm announced on Monday.
She will be reporting to Will Wang, head of casualty for Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
Based in Hong Kong, Yeung joins Sompo from AXA XL, where she was a casualty underwriter. She has nearly a decade of industry and underwriting experience, across her time at AXA XL and XL Catlin, and Falcon Insurance prior to that.
“Megan brings hands‑on experience in casualty underwriting, with specialised expertise in product liability and general liability. She has played a key role in underwriting global and corporate casualty programs, collaborating closely across geographies to assess and structure complex multinational risks,” the company said in its announcement.
The hire follows a string of Sompo appointments in the region announced this month, including for Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, where the business appointed Kelvin Woo as chief distribution officer and hired Gally Wong as senior construction underwriter. The insurer also appointed Sarah Lee as multinational network manager for APAC, announcing the move last week.
