Aviso Specialty has appointed Peter Sun as chief operating officer, schemes & affinity, the company announced on Tuesday.
Based in Sydney, Sun joins the business after close to eight years at Marsh, where he most recently served as chief operating officer, Affinity Pacific. Before Marsh, he held senior roles across the sport, leisure and entertainment insurance segment at JLT Australia and Aon.
He brings more than two decades of insurance industry experience to his new role, with a focus on affinity, schemes and delegated authority business across Australia and New Zealand.
According to the company, Sun “will focus on developing modern insurance solutions that improve speed, accessibility and customer experience while maintaining the specialist advice and service that remain critical to successful Affinity programs.”
The appointment adds to a broader build-out of the broker’s specialist capabilities, including the earlier appointment of Dimitri Hursalas as head of affinity.
Across other practice areas, the firm has also appointed Kerin Rathgeber as trade credit practice leader. Meanwhile, Paul Smyth was named head of financial lines and Shane Aitken was appointed manager.
Back in June, the firm launched a risk intelligence division, with Nicholas Martin at the helm. The unit gives clients broader access to senior-led risk management advice.
