Aviso Specialty is continuing its expansion push with the appointment of Dimitri Hursalas as head of affinity, the Australia-based brokerage announced on Thursday.
Based in Sydney, Hursalas joins after a six-year stint with Marsh, where he most recently worked as head of affinity for Australia. He brings over a decade of experience in the insurance industry, having held roles for IAG, Aon, and JLT Australia earlier in his career.
In his new role, Hursalas will work closely with James Wallace, manager of schemes and affinity.
“Dimitri brings more than a decade of insurance industry experience, including deep expertise working with small to medium-sized businesses, associations and their members to deliver bespoke insurance solutions and service models for specific client groups,” Aviso noted in its announcement.
The appointment follows a series of recent moves by Aviso Specialty to expand its specialty platform, including the launch of its Risk Intelligence division led by Nicholas Martin and a new M&A practice headed by Kane Sim. These moves come after the company announced 21 appointments earlier this year as part of its broader investment in specialist capability.
