Aviso Specialty has appointed Ashish Bhattacharya as head of real estate, the Australian broker announced on Thursday.
Based in Sydney, Bhattacharya joins Aviso after more than five years at Lockton, most recently serving as head of real estate for Australia. Earlier in his career, he worked at Marsh Risk, Willis Towers Watson and ICICI Lombard.
“Ashish will lead our dedicated real estate practice across Australia and New Zealand,” Aviso said on LinkedIn.
His appointment comes as Aviso Specialty continues to build out its national capability, following 21 appointments announced in February, including multiple senior hires from Lockton.
Since then, the broker has established a Capital Solutions group and appointed Eric Wojcik as head of capital and guarantee solutions. It has also named Peter Sun chief operating officer, schemes and affinity, and expanded its financial lines business with the appointments of Paul Smyth as head of financial lines and Shane Aitken as manager, financial lines.
