Willis has named Anthony Wong as its new Head of Casualty in Asia, effective immediately, the WTW business announced in a media release on Monday.
Wong, who moves to Singapore from Hong Kong for the role, first joined Willis in 2023 and was working in the firm’s Large Account Practice. As part of his move to Willis’s Property & Casualty (P&C) business, he will now report to Paul Ward, Head of P&C Asia.
Speaking on his appointment, Ward noted that Wong has worked with some of the business’s most important clients in Asia. “His specialty expertise and leadership in managing complex risk portfolios make him an outstanding addition to our team,” Ward said. “Anthony’s knowledge and experience will undoubtedly enhance our ability to deliver exceptional casualty solutions to our large and complex clients across Asia.”
Wong brings with him 20 years of experience in insurance and risk management. Before joining Willis, he worked as a risk manager for conglomerate CK Hutchinson Holdings. His previous industry experience also includes time at Generali and Liberty International.
His promotion comes following a number of recent key appointments by Willis in the Asia region. Last week, the business announced the promotions of Conor Keating and Carlos Grijalva to Head of Cyber and Head of Cyber Sales for Asia, respectively.
The business this month also announced that it will launch a new data centre practice to meet demand in the burgeoning segment, with Lay See Ong named as Practice Leader.
