Canopius Group has appointed Jinnan Tang as Casualty Treaty Underwriter, effective August 11, 2025, the specialty (re)insurer announced on Friday.
Based in Singapore, Tang joins the APAC regional team and will report to Andrew Parker and Micia Yong.
He brings more than 12 years of experience across underwriting, pricing, reserving, and actuarial analysis and joins from MS Amlin Singapore, where he led Casualty and Marine treaty portfolios across APAC and MENA regions.
“Jinnan’s technical expertise and regional market insight make him a strong addition to our Casualty treaty team,” says Soon Keen (SK) Lee, CEO APAC & MENA.
“His experience across APAC, MENA, and London, combined with a proven track record in pricing, portfolio analysis, and client engagement, will strengthen our underwriting capabilities and sharpen our client proposition in the region,” Lee added.
Earlier in his career, Tang held actuarial roles in London with Westfield Specialty and Aon Reinsurance. He has led pricing initiatives across UK Motor, International Liability, and Marine portfolios, and provided strategic guidance on reserving, capital modelling, and pricing at Insight Risk Consulting.
Tang’s appointment comes as Canopius continues to expand its APAC operations, with the region contributing significantly to the company’s growth trajectory. The specialty (re)insurer recently reported a 33% surge in APAC premiums for the first half of 2025, while Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance also increased its stake in Canopius to 40% in June, reflecting continued confidence in the company’s regional expansion strategy.
