Chubb has appointed Ben McGregor as Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Insurance Property and Alex Forman as Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Insurance Casualty, both within its Chubb Overseas General (COG) division, effective immediately.
Both appointments report to John DePeters, Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Insurance and Specialty at COG. McGregor and Forman will be responsible for driving performance and growth across COG’s middle market commercial property and casualty portfolio, with a focus on segment-specific underwriting strategies, advanced analytics, and expanding the division’s market reach.
McGregor brings more than 30 years of insurance industry experience to the role, including 23 years at Chubb, where he has led property portfolios across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. He most recently served as Head of Property and Terrorism for the United Kingdom and Ireland, and is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). His appointment is notable given his deep regional roots in APAC, where COG has been investing in its commercial capabilities.
Forman joins the role with more than two decades of industry experience, having previously held senior positions at AIG and Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, where he served as Head of UK Retail Underwriting, before joining Chubb in 2020. In his most recent role at the insurer, he oversaw the profitability and strategic growth of the casualty portfolio across the UK, Ireland, and South Africa.
“Ben and Alex each bring deep technical expertise to their roles, and together they will be instrumental in scaling our capabilities,” said DePeters.
The dual appointments reflect Chubb’s continued investment in its overseas commercial insurance platform. The COG division serves as the insurer’s primary vehicle for international commercial and specialty growth outside the US.
For Asia Pacific, the insurer recently confirmed key appointments: Naresh Krishnan as president director of PT Chubb Life Insurance Indonesia (Chubb Life Indonesia), Jin Lee as executive vice president and general counsel, global life and general insurance, APAC, and Mark Eggleton as senior VP and general counsel, legal strategy and government affairs, APAC.
Separately, in December, the company announced its ambitious plans to automate 85% of major underwriting and claims processes over three to four years as part of a wider technology and automation strategy that could see headcount cut by around 20% while lowering its combined ratio.
