Eclipse Insurance has welcomed Andrew Hookings as a senior casualty underwriter, the business announced on LinkedIn on 5 December.
Hookings joins the Australian managing general agent (MGA) from Ensurance Underwriting, later acquired by Chase, where he most recently served as specialist PI underwriter and established an environmental liability binder.
In his new designation, he will play a key role in supporting Eclipse’s continued growth, particularly within the company’s expanding liability portfolio, the MGA said.
Hookings brings over 25 years of experience across the insurance industry, with a background spanning claims, property, and distribution. He previously spent a decade as regional underwriting manager for environmental liability at AXA XL, gaining extensive training and experience across the US, UK, and Asian markets.
His appointment comes after the promotion of Thomas Haegi as chief executive officer of Eclipse Insurance in November, as the company announced a restructure as it rolled into its fifth year in operation.
