The community grants are provided for initiatives that are focused on career readiness, financial inclusion, health, and well-being, as well as social entrepreneurship. These include the following:

  • Cambodia: FWD is teaming up with the country’s Department of Media & Communication and the Royal University of Phnom Penh to provide training for more than 100 media practitioners to boost financial education. The insurer and its collaborators are also organising a story-writing competition to raise awareness about financial planning.

Additionally, in collaboration with Fostering Education & Environment for Development, the grant will be used to launch the Forest of the Future initiative, which aims to preserve endemic, indigenous forest trees.
  • Singapore: The grant will support Club Rainbow (Singapore)’s Ride and Ralk for Rainbows campaign, which provides services and intervention programmes for children with chronic illnesses.

In the announcement, FWD Group CEO and Executive Director Huynh Thanh Phong said, “FWD Group has grown, developed and expanded significantly across Asia over the past 11 years, but one thing that has stayed the same is our commitment to caring as a core company value.

As an insurer, we must earn the trust of our customers and communities every day. We’re still a young company and these grants help to demonstrate our commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of people in the communities where we live, work and serve customers.”
