Gallagher India has strengthened its senior leadership team with four appointments across claims, legal, liability and strategic business lines, signalling a deeper push into complex commercial insurance segments.
Nadeem G Mokashi has joined as Head of claims – property and casualty, bringing more than 20 years of cross-functional experience across underwriting, broking, corporate insurance and claims leadership. Gallagher said his technical expertise, particularly in large property, engineering and cyber claims, will help build greater depth in its P&C claims practice. He has also trained insurers internationally on complex claims handling.
The broker has also appointed Jyoti Krishnan as chief legal officer and national head – liability & specialty Claims. With close to 15 years of experience in banking, finance and insurance, Jyoti specialises in dispute resolution, corporate advisory and managing high-value liability and specialty claims. The firm said her track record in handling multimillion-dollar matters will enhance its legal and claims capabilities.
In addition, Mayank Sharma has joined as National Head – liability. Gallagher said his expertise in client advisory, team-building and strategic risk solutions will support the firm’s plans to scale its liability practice. His leadership is expected to drive business growth and strengthen client relationships across markets.
Rounding out the leadership additions, Sunny Goel has taken on the role of Strategic Business Leader – Liability & Renewable Energy after joining the business in April last year. His mandate includes driving strategic initiatives in liability and renewable energy, strengthening these practices and supporting Gallagher India’s broader growth plans.
The four appointments come amid a period of key personnel changes in Gallagher’s wider Asia-Pacific business.
Earlier this week, its Australian unit named JD Veldsman as chief commercial officer. In a key change for its reinsurance arm, Gallagher Re last month appointed Roshan Perera as head of APAC and Richard Jones as chairman, succeeding Mark O’Brien, who has left the business to pursue new opportunities outside broking, and Mark Morley, who is retiring, respectively.
Other key regional appointments so far this year include the promotion of Adam Sullivan to lead Gallagher’s specialty business in Asia, Minesh Jani as Gallagher Re’s India CEO, and Ken Wise, who returned to the business as head of corporate and natural resources for Western Australia.
