Gallagher appoints ajit horra as ceo of india

Gallagher on Wednesday announced it has appointed Ajit Horra as CEO and Principal Officer of its broking business in India, pending regulatory approval. He succeeds Sneha Gokarn, who is leaving the company.

Horra, who joined Gallagher as Managing Director in October, brings over 35 years of experience in the insurance sector. In his new role, he leads a team of 180 based in Mumbai, with regional offices in Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Delhi, Gurugram, Guwahati, and Kolkata.

He will work alongside Vinod Krishnan, who leads Gallagher Re in India, and will report to Simon Matson, Executive Vice President of Gallagher’s Global Brokerage business, Gal

“Ajit is a natural leader for our business in India and we are thrilled to appoint him as CEO & Principal Officer,” Matson says. We view India as a key growth market for Gallagher given its size and scale and we see many opportunities for further development of the business with Ajit leading the team.”

Prior to joining Gallagher, Horra spent seven years at Prudent Insurance Brokers, where he served as Board Director and Technical Head. His career also includes leadership roles at United India Insurance Company and Aon.

Gallagher entered the Indian market in 2019 through a partnership with Edelweiss Insurance Brokers, which it fully acquired in 2021. The business was rebranded as Gallagher in 2022.
