David Lim Kang Chiang has joined Greater Eastern as its Managing Director for Group Agency and Financial Advisors, effective 15 December, the business announced on LinkedIn on Tuesday, 4 November.
Chiang moves from Sun Life, where he served as Chief Agency Officer for Asia, based in Hong Kong. A seasoned insurance leader, he previously held senior agency distribution and management roles at Prudential plc, Prudential Assurance, and Manulife-Sinochem Insurance.
At Great Eastern, Chiang is expected to drive its growth in Singapore and regional agency and financial advisory teams, as well as implement key advisor initiatives. He will report directly to Greg Hingston, Group Chief Executive Officer.
Commenting on the appointment, Hingston highlighted Chiang’s strong track record in agency transformation and leadership. “As we continue to strengthen our distribution excellence and drive sustainable growth across our markets, I’m confident that [Chiang] will play a pivotal role in building a high-performing, future-ready advisory force that remains committed to serving our customers with integrity, professionalism, and care,” he said.
For his part, Chiang expressed his excitement about working alongside Great Eastern’s financial representatives and advisors, saying: “I am honoured to be part of Great Eastern, a brand synonymous with trust. This is an organisation with a rich heritage, a strong culture of excellence and a deep commitment to helping customers protect and achieve their life goals.”
Before this appointment, in August, Great Eastern also appointed Kwek-Perroy Li Choo to the newly created role of Managing Director, Group Integrated Propositions and Platforms.
