Howden on Monday announced four major executive movements in its Hong Kong Team: Cyrus Cheung has been appointed as senior director, business development; Jan Ng as head of sales, employee benefits; Michael Chan as director, employee benefits; and Flora Yip as senior director, business risks.
Cheung, who brings 14 years of industry experience, rejoins Howden from Marsh, where he most recently served as vice president for Marsh Hong Kong and Macau sales leader. Prior to that, he worked at Howden Hong Kong as senior manager – corporate and commercial. In his new role, Cheung will spearhead initiatives to deepen client relationships, unlock new market opportunities, and drive sales-oriented process enhancements that support sustainable growth.
Meanwhile, both Ng and Chan move to Howden from Marsh subsidiary Mercer, where they held the director and associate director posts for business development, respectively, and will work towards elevating Howden’s employee benefits proposition. Ng brings more than 10 years of proven track record in benefits strategy and team leadership while Chan brings more than 15 years of strong market expertise to help capture emerging opportunities in this critical segment.
Lastly, Yip joins from Lockton Hong Kong, where she was previously head of commercial risks. With 30 years of industry experience, Flora brings deep commercial risk acumen, making her ideally suited to lead this newly established unit, according to Howden. In her new role, she is supported by Karen Law and YL J., both senior managers, business risks. Together, the team will deliver strategic risk advisory and tailored solutions to help clients safeguard resilience and navigate complex challenges.
“These appointments reflect our unwavering focus on investing in talent and resources to deliver exceptional value for clients,” Howden said in a statement.
“As we accelerate our growth journey at Howden Hong Kong, strengthening our leadership and talent is vital,” Afred Sham, CEO of Howden Hong Kong, commented. “This expanded team equips us to drive sustainable growth, enhance client experience, and deliver on our long-term vision for excellence.”
The appointments of Cheung, Ng, Chan, and Yip follow executive movements at Howden in Asia earlier this month, particularly in its mergers and acquisitions teams: Adrian Chai as senior director for M&A, Asia, Jianhua Chen (director) and Rosy Wang (associate director) to the firm’s China M&A team, and Janice Jiang as an associate, also in its M&A team.
