IAG creates Customer Experience division, appoints Meta VP to lead it

Michelle Klein returns to Australia, from the United States, and will lead the new division across all IAG brands.

IAG has announced the appointment of Michelle Klein as Chief Customer and Marketing Officer to lead its newly formed Customer Experience and Marketing division.

Klein will return to Australia from the United States, having worked with brands such as British Airways, Diageo, and and Armani. Most recently, she was Vice President for Meta’s Global Business and Product Marketing division. Her diverse career spans 25 years, five continents and netted her three Effie Awards.

Klein will be responsible for the IAG marketing and brand portfolio strategy for all brands, including NRMA and CGU. Her role will be to leverage deep customer and community insights and to improve the group’s overall customer experience.

Julie Batch, Group Executive at IAG, warmly welcomed Michelle Klein to the team. “Michelle is renowned internationally for her innovative solutions to redefining the role of brands to deliver business results. It is a testament to the strength of IAG and our portfolio of brands to attract someone of Michelle’s calibre to our team” she said.

Klein also expressed her enthusiasm for the role, saying that she was “excited to be a part of this important industry” and that she would use her “Silicon Valley experience to drive transformation through insights and technology.”

Zara Curtis, who has been Acting Chief Marketing Officer at IAG since September will remain with the business with an expanded remit within the marketing leadership team.
