Lee Vanderson has been named the new Head of Specialty for the Philippines at Howden, the company announced via LinkedIn

Based in the Philippines, Vanderson has been with the Group since 2020, most recently as Division Director. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a Regional Technical Adviser for RKH Specialty for over a year.

He brings over 40 years of industry experience to his new role, with 14 of them spent across Asia, particularly in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

Darren Norris, Howden Global Specialty Chief Broking Officer, commented on Vanderson’s appointment, saying: “Lee brings unparalleled expertise and leadership. In his new role, he will focus on growing Howden Specialty in the Philippines by showcasing its full range of Specialty lines, product offerings, and expertise, and by building a high-performing, experienced team to deliver excellence.”

Meanwhile, Raul Bantug Tan, CEO of the Philippines, added: “Lee’s industry knowledge and regional experience will be instrumental in elevating our Specialty offerings and delivering exceptional value to our clients, while strengthening our market presence locally.”

This announcement comes after several other appointments made by Howden this month for Asia. These include HuiLeng Tan’s appointment as Executive Director at Howden Specialty Asia Pacific and Tim Hewitt as Head of M&A for Howden Japan.
