Manulife has expanded the number of public and private hospitals under its individual medical plans across mainland China to more than 38,000, according to an announcement on Tuesday, 2 September.
Along with this, the insurer has extended the credit service for hospitalisation to over 800 designated hospitals in mainland China, allowing policyholders to receive treatment directly upon admission.
Commenting on the announcement, Carrie Tong, Manulife Hong Kong and Macau COO, stated, “By offering access to all public and private hospitals across Mainland China, we provide a broad and inclusive healthcare network that truly centres on our customers’ needs.”
This move forms part of a broader trend of cross-border medical support, with several insurers in the Greater Bay Area introducing similar initiatives over the past year.
