Manulife Philippines and Manulife China Bank Life (MCBL), its bancassurance joint venture with China Banking Corporation, have appointed Amy Gochuico as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 April 2025.

Gochuico brings more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry, with two decades focused on bancassurance across key Southeast Asian markets. Most recently, she served as Chief Bancassurance Officer at Manulife Indonesia, where she was responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the bancassurance channel.

Prior to joining Manulife Indonesia, Gochuico held several senior leadership roles in Jakarta, including Chief Marketing Officer and Chief HNWI Officer at AXA Mandiri Financial Services. She also spent four years at AIA Indonesia in various roles, including SVP, Head of Regional Partnerships, Training and Recruitment, and SVP, Head of Regional Partnerships, overseeing key alliances such as Citibank and ANZ.

In her return to the Philippines, Gochuico will lead partnership management, drive business growth, develop distribution capability, and oversee key business risks.

“During her time at Manulife Indonesia, she ensured sustainable and consistent growth for the Company’s Bancassurance business to meet its long-term commitments,” said Rahul Hora, President and CEO of Manulife Philippines.

Hora added, “As MCBL President and CEO, she will lead overall partnership management, deliver growth, develop our distribution team and bench strength, manage key business risks, and ensure quality outcomes that can help Manulife become the number one choice for our customers.”
