Prudential’s asset management arm Eastspring Investments has appointed Michael Chang as the new Head of Investment Malaysia, the firm announced on Thursday (14 May).

He will oversee all investment activities for the Malaysia office and ensure that investment strategies align with the company’s objectives and client needs.

Chang brings over 25 years of experience in fixed-income and multi-asset investing. His most recent role was Chief Investment Officer at RHB Asset Management, where he oversaw fixed-income departments in Singapore, Indonesia, and Hong Kong for the past 8 years.

Commenting on the appointment, Yap Siok Hoon, CEO of Eastspring Investments Malaysia, said:  “[Chang’s] proven track record and deep understanding of the investment landscape make him the ideal candidate to lead our investment efforts. With his leadership, EIMY is poised to continue delivering exceptional investment solutions and performance for our clients.”

In a statement, Eastspring says Chang’s appointment is part of its “commitment to strengthen its investment team and enhance its ability to navigate the evolving market environment.”

The firm has also recently tapped Salman Haider to serve as Chief Executive Officer of Eastspring’s Singapore unit and Head of ASEAN.
