Jonathan Rake is set to become the CEO of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions on 1 Jan 2025, succeeding Russell Higginbotham, who will step down after a 30-year career with the company.

Rake joined Swiss Re in 2016 and has served as the APAC CEO for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions since July 2017. He will move to Zurich at the end of 2024 to take on the new role.

“Thank you Andreas [Berger] and the Swiss Re leadership for this opportunity,” Rake said in a statement on LinkedIn. “We will miss the many friends, colleagues, customers and partners who have made our time in Asia a wonderful chapter in our lives. We will not be strangers to the Region,” he added.

In its statement, Swiss Re also announced that Robert Hunziker would take on the role of Interim CEO for APAC as a result of the leadership change.

Hunziker began his career with Swiss Re in London in 2001 and moved to Zurich, where he worked from 2006 to 2009. He later joined the Corporate Solutions team in the USA, spending 11 years there before relocating to Singapore in 2021 to take on his current role as Head of Property & Specialty APAC for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
